Are you planning your own paint night? Maybe you recently joined a knitting group? Taken an interest in drawing/illustration? Or are you starting your first day of scenic art design 101 with that one teacher everyone loves? Regardless of the activity, if it’s your first time getting acquainted with arts and crafts, I’m sure one thought has come to your mind, where do I buy art materials in Mississauga?

Now, Mississauga is home to a vibrant art scene so finding a good art supply store shouldn’t be too hard, right? Well not to worry, I’ve done the work for you! Here is a small starter list of stores every person in need of art supplies should check out.

Curry’s Artists’ Materials

Curry’s Artists’ Materials, located just off of Dundas St, is a store is filled with everything from airbrushes to craft tables. It contains more than 25 different arts brands and has about 8 other stores across Ontario (talk about supply and demand!). Safe to say if you don’t see what you’re looking for at this location, you have many more to choose from.


DeSerres is close to the boarder of Mississauga and Oakville. This is a family owned business with 30 locations across Canada, five of them being in the GTA. They provide essential sketch tools and other niche products for artist. The store also has a 10% student discount off regular products in store and online. Just bring your student card and you’re good to go!

Michaels, yes I know, why bring Michaels into this conversation. Much like Wal-Mart, this store provides all your basic needs. Of course it is always good to support your small business owners. But if you are in a rush and need something quick, Michael’s has three locations across Mississauga to check out.


Firercraft, for those crafty with silk fibers and felt. This online based Mississauga store sells felting supplies and different felt colors. Prices are quite reasonable and of course, always great to support local!
